PLA projects traditionally provide more minority and veteran hiring because of better access to talent and specific hiring goals set in the agreements. Here is how it works:

For minority hiring, the CT Building Trades has a partnership with “The Jobs Funnel”, a pre-employment preparation and job training service for city residents interested in careers in construction. The Building trades also welcome any new recruit without bias of religion, gender, or race, and union affiliation.

The CT Building Trades also partners with the “Helmets to Hard Hats” program, which places quality men and women from the military into construction careers.
